CAMPING at West Bay

Magnificent views, secluded bays with sandy beaches, connected by walking tracks. A natural haven for plants and the European introduced animals ( kangaroos, wallabies and goats) native skinks, bird life (include the pair of Beach Stone Curlew who reside and nest on Southern end of the West Bay beach), a variety of endemic insect species (including butterflies and spiders) and a very diverse flora. These are a few of the things awaiting those willing to explore Middle Percy.

Campers are welcome at Middle Percy Island.  $10.00 per adult per night (children 13 yrs and under are free) .

  • INTENDING CAMPERS must contact  the HOMESTEAD , prior to camping on the Island.
  • Upon arrival please radio the Homestead on Marine Radio VHF Channel: 73 for instructions on where to camp. No Camping allowed in the A-Frame under EPA regulations (Nature Conservation Act 1992.)
  • FIRES are only permitted at the back of the ‘Percy Hilton/ Percy Island Yacht Club’ A-frame building. No fires are permitted at camp sites.
  • RUBBISH must be removed by you from the island. Do not bury it. There is no rubbish tip here. You are only allowed to leave your boat sign and your footprints.
  • WOOD for the BBQ and fire pit are provided and must be used wisely. Please ask for advice if collecting wood yourselves. Please tidy up the fire area after use.
  • WATER is not provided for showering or drinking. If we have an abundance of water we will supply water for washing dishes, if we are in drought please use sea water.   All the water on the Island is harvested from rain so is in very limited supply. Please bring your own drinking water from the mainland. Please report any problems.
  • COMMUNICATIONS: Telstra 3G/4G is sometimes available at approx. 100M above sea level. (Ring Ring rocks, above West Bay)
  • FACILITIES: There is a  camp kitchen located in the A Frame for your use, equipped with crockery and cutlery. Please leave In a tidy state at all times and any help cleaning around the A Frame will be appreciated. If you are opening coconuts please put empty nuts on pile behind A Frame.
  • You are not permitted to camp anywhere else on Middle Percy Island.
  • Dogs are to be kept on leashes and under control at all times.
  • There is absolutely no hunting permitted on Middle Percy Island.
